Light trails are when you use a long shutter speed to capture the movement of light, while the shutter speed is open for few seconds or more. The light creates a trail across the image showing the path it has taken.
How to create Light Trails?
You need to set up the shutter speed to about 10 – 30 seconds, choose a low ISO setting and set the aperture to a sweet spot in the lens in between the f/4 to f/11. Most importantly set the camera to shoot in RAW.
Atton Conrad
Atton Conrad uses light brushes as a technique to make a fine line and control over the light and texture. This gave him “a unique, almost hyperreal result”.

Michael Bosanko
Michael Bosanko uses coloured torches as paint brushes to create light trails, he transforms landscapes such as the Brecon Beacons and desolate city scenes using the coloured touch technique. Using a long exposure time on the camera and snaps the moving light to product different shade of light.

The Summary
In this theme I liked the way we actually made the light trails and we learned that if we keep the shutter speed open for around 20 – 30 seconds, we were able to create the light trails using different type of lights. Using the “lightsaver” type torch worked the best since we could change colours very easily and were able to wave it around more.
